Members jskpongoui
Hi guys, The guitarist in the band that I'm in's birthday is coming up, and the bassist and I are gonna chip in to get him a nice effect pedal (100 dollars ish) yes I know this is kind of expensive, but I missed his last birthday so... anyway We play stuff like talking heads, ratatat, LCD soundsystem, and some ambient (brian eno, boards of canada) he has no current effects pedals, what would you guys reccomend i get him? and what would he get the most use out of? thanks guys

Members Jumbo Fuzz
I would agree that a delay is probably the best bet. It is a shame that the Line 6 Echo Park is $150 and not closer to $100. For a first pedal, that could add alot of useful ambient tones to your band. Members Advent19
If it's a delay you're lookin for, I'd go with the (Digitech) Hardwire Delay/Looper It's my favorite delay- good size, true bypass, and has a lot of cool settings without being complicated. And Reverse delay is crazy cool .
Members josiahcox
I'd say a good analog delay but that's just my two cents. Digital just doesn't do it for me.

Members BoredGuitarist7
Memory Boy - Useable, but also zany and fun, and great for ambient music. Custom Monsterpiece from Duderanimous - You can have it made for him and you choose the decals and everything. MI Audio Crunch Box - My favorite distortion. Ibanez/Maxon PT-9 - Great, reggaeish phaser, set the sweep wide and you can get some nice ambient sounds. Boss CE-3 - 80's Pop. A GGG Kit for him to build New Pedaltrain meybeh? Used Vexter Fuzz Factory? - Lots of Fuzz sounds, from useable to not so useable. Crybaby 535Q? - A great, multipurpose Wah.

Sorry- I forgot, he has a wah wah pedal, and 3 years ago I remember him using some digitech effect pedal, but he didn't like it much- it sounded kind of corny: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/DigiTech-RP55-Guitar-MultiEffects-Pedal?sku=580861 i think it was this, but it was silver and blue
