Keep on pluggin' away there hater, you'll eventually find another funny line or two. The law of averages says it's inevitable.

Members Bobby D
yes...... stargarden is the music i made because: i played too much LOUD music. in the early 90s, i had an atari ST and a BUNCH of synths. i liked to zone out and smoke something NICE and experiment with sounds. the first stargarden album was done in the early 90s, and actually made some money back in the original days of MP3.com then magnatune asked me to release it years ago. stargarden was music i made for myself, and for my friends that liked this stuff, i used to make mixtapes of stargarden mixed with aphex, global communication, banco de gaia, etc.... i had no idea that as many people would like it as i did. i am eternally grateful to john at magnatune for releasing it. "ambient excursions" is their #4 best seller ever in ambient don't know if i can ever make another one of those......it was from a certain time and place, with the gear and vibe and all... and much love to Soma FM -- who have always played my music since they started. thanks for the shoutout! Members Bobby D
lol.....NO GUITARS were used or harmed during the making of any of stargarden music......it's all synths and samples. a short list of synths: yamaha a3000 sampler (great unit, now CHEAP, was $1100 back then) nord lead 2 kawai k5000s (best digital synth EVAR) yamaha dx-7 roland 606 drum machine prophet 5 rev 3.3 (found it for $400) jupiter 8 (found it for $375) emu e-synth sampler emu audity 2000 atari ST running Cubase 2.0 with cracked software -- i contacted steinberg and asked to buy a LEGIT copy, the dude asked me "which crack are you running?" -- i told him......he said "that one's good, just use that, have a nice day" i still would put the atari ST running cubase 2.0 up against ANY modern sequencer and have better MIDI timing
Members Bobby D
one last happy bit....the summer of 2006, the city of MUNICH GERMANY licensed stargarden to provide music for all their train stations that was probably the coolest licensing of my music ever. Members Bobby D
life lesson learned from stargarden.... all the time i was doing that music, i was always involved with bands/projects that were MUCH more important and serious. stargarden has outlasted and outsold every other thing i ever did. this was music i made sheerly for the joy of making it. there's a lesson in that somewhere. i dont know if i have learned it, tho... Made me think about when I used to have the soundtrack to the movie "Thief" on vinyl years ago. Tangerine dreams

Tangerine dreams wow......that is an awesome soundtrack......i love that one also the soundtrack to "risky business" was amazing -- "love on a real train" is one of the best tracks TD ever did! Shine brightly from the heart!:love: glad people like the stargarden music. it was done for the love of doing it. i was busy concentrating on SERIOUS bands and projects all that time. next stargarden album is gonna be ALL guitars tho.....gotta do something different. so i'm gonna use ALL heavily processed guitars. particle verb!
