I have no idea what the initials stand for.
:idk:

Telecaster Discussion Page Reissue. Why? I dunno.

They have a very strict 'no advertising of any sort ever' policy, with the exception of people who pay for "Vendor" accounts. Seems a bit greedy, but it works.

Has one redeeming feature: an incredibly talented luthier from Jerusalem who builds awesomely detail repros and takes shitloads of pics. I don't care for the 'vintage-correct' deal, but it still lights my fire. Guitar porn to the max.

That thread is over 80 pages long - something like that. I looked at the first few, and the last few... didn't have time to look at all of them. :o But I DID see a thread over there a while back with a very impressive '59 reproduction, and what I saw in the thread (above) was enough to make me wonder if they were being done by the same guy... if so, he's an incredibly gifted and detail oriented luthier.

Because the original site was closed by its founder when he graduated or got a life or whatever. So since all the buzz in the guitar world at the time was the "reissues" they thought that was clever when the site was reopened under new management.

Yeah and at $250 or whatever a bit overpriced. TGP has a similar, but a far more reasonable price and policy. And if you're talking anything about guitar being more expensive than TGP you are out there.

Gil is an excellent builder. Following the many build threads is the one reason to be there. A lot of guys building some excellent guitars of all types.
