Members rushfan
Coming from someone named " Rushfan":thu: Rush is, was and always will be so much better and more talented than Radiohead it's not even funny. THE TREES BRO!!!!! Not surprising to me that you don't have the intellect to see that The Trees is a political statement pointing out the fallacies of socialism. LOL and I have to add, I never thought I'd see the day when Lumpy Gravy was busting on someone else's lyrics. Wow. Yeah, your music is so meaningful when compared to such lame amateurs as Rush. "Is there a message in "The Trees"?"No. It was just a flash. I was working on an entirely different thing when I saw a cartoon picture of these trees carrying on like fools. I thought, "What if trees acted like people?" So I saw it as a cartoon really, and wrote it that way. I think that's the image that it conjures up to a listener or a reader. A very simple statement." -- Neil Peart, in the April/May 1980 Modern Drummer magazineTrolling is funny, but you're just desperate mate. Members brianeharmonjr
I'd choose Radiohead 100 times out of 100, but not really a fair comparison in any way. I enjoy snippets of Derek Trucks playing, but have never really been a huge blues/jam-band fan, so it's just not my thing. Radiohead's constant experimentation, incredible songwriting, and killer production will always win out over playing blues scales in more interesting ways with a slide. Just my opinion. It was fun to make Robo feel stupid when he read it though, cus he didn't know until you said something. LOL and how am I desparate? I'm not the one bashing one of the world's best lyricists when I play ratty dives in Pennsylvania. I was just poking fun at him for being so stupid. Members soapbladder
Do I have to listen to either band? I don't wanna. And "the trees" is like a preachy Weird Al Song for bloodless randriod virgins. SB
