Members ChrisFFTA
have a DM1... going strong. it is a pretty special beast but the DM2 is just as fun and lovely sounding. for the coin I would go a RE201...
Members ScienceFriction
I'm pretty into dirt myself. At the moment I've got a Vintage Maxon D&S II, Demeter Fuzzulator, Coopersonic Valveslapper, Boss OD-1, and Big Muff v.6. Still seeking more sounds though. That's dirt though. I like digital delay, I'll probably get a DD-2 at some point, or maybe a DD-7 (that tap tempo is alluring), but I mostly use analog delay. The DM-1 is the sort of sound I like, and I might even pick up a MXR M-118 and a DOD 680 at some point in the future too. Maybe even a Deluxe Memory Man at some point, but that's a whole different game with all the different versions there are. The DM-1 gives me a specific sound and I like that, but I have looked into a RE201 before. I'm huge gearhead though, so I'll probably try pick up a tape delay at some point. A friend of mine has an old Echo-Plex that needs new tape, so I'll see how that sounds after it's up at working.. whenever that is.

Members ScienceFriction
I have a v6 muff - it's great. Really smooth compared to the NYC RI. I just got mine, but I haven't been able to try it out yet. It needs some work, not sure if the jack needs replaced or if I need to replace a piece on the circuit board, but it when it's off no bypass and when it's on it's only clean bypass, no effect. I should start a new thread about it, haha. For what I paid though, I'm hoping it will getting me close to that smooth dirt/fuzz sound ala Gilmour as my budget will allow. Can't I use an analog delay and digital at once, with the digital repeating the analog delays? I really need to learn some delay tricks..

Members ScienceFriction
I'll have to try it with my new 1984 blue label Boss DD-2. I just have to keep myself in check, no need to rely on effects, I'm not the Edge.

Well worth fixing in my opinion. Talk to Ron Neeley or Howard Davis.
Members ScienceFriction
Thanks, I'll do that tomorrow sometime. Ah okay, I see, EH repair specialists, expensive too. Hmm. So, I really like these early Boss guitar products, I'm hoping I come across a RX-100 for a good price at some point. I guess I just really dig the look and sound of early Roland/Boss guitar effects. Members nightraven
CE-1s are easy to track down. DB-5s - I've never seen one ever... a db-5 just sold for $800 on ebay not bad (thread was worthy of a bump imo )

Members ScienceFriction
Yeah I saw that DB-5, I don't have the money for that after I bought DM-1. To be honest, the DB-5 is cool, but it's not something I feel like I need to seek out. I doubt I'd ever use it, and I don't really "collect" pedals, I buy them to use. Maaan, if you had it still I'd buy it, I want a RX-100. I'll probably get a RV-2 at some point, but I'd like an affordable analog reverb, and the RX-100 seems like it. The ones on ebay are definitely over priced, unfortunately. Still, my delay machines do give a nice space to my sound.
Members nightraven
i havent been using my db5 much lately, i guess the novelty of the 'exploding amp' sound has started to wear off, i dont plan on selling it though, i wouldnt manage to find another when i inevitably regret it. very cool that you managed to track down a dm1

Members ScienceFriction
Not only, reading fails. I already have a DM-1, got it a short time ago.. It's funny though how the market is working, you see a lot of people trying to get a specific price for something.. say $300. Then you turn around and see it's selling for less than $150. Not the DM-1, but just effects in general lately. This has to be the best time to buy gear by a mile.
Members oldschooltone
some pedals are bringing more then ever however (Mu Trons) i think the main pedals that plunged were ones that got reissues lately like all the vintage ibanez flying pans hanging out on ebay that use to would have sold.... I'm sure eventually even the slower people will realize the reissues have nothing to offer compared to the originals and maybe in future making crappy reissues won't plunge pedals people have invested in i also have a 1983 big box proco rat for 300 plus shipping world wide warpedsquids@live.com
Members Seth Carmody
The RX-100 is a curious beast. I've seen em sell for well under $100 in the past. Then other people want $500 for them??

Then other people want $500 for them?? Yeah, it's weird. I've seen them for a variety of prices, including one that was somewhere around $150 I think that I passed up on ebay not too long ago. There are a lot of people who have really overvalued certain gear, but that's ebay for ya. I think reverb like the RX-100 has it uses, plus its analog and goes with the DM-100. I wish the DM-100 had a little bit more controls for the chorus, but it really is a nice subtle, controlled effect even with just one knob.
