Members Mike McLenison
What's your conclusion of a good balance of versatility with no tone-sucking. Slight boost in volume is ok. Thanks in advance!
Members a.mercy
I like the MXR Phase 90 (if you can find a script logo, that's the best option) with mods done to them, or the MXR EVH phase.
Members goodhonk
slight volume drop okay? here's, imo, the best phaser out there. $30small stone

Members Jules-RM
Retrosonic. Best one I've used, ever. VERY transparent for a phaser.
Members Mike McLenison
The Malekko sound very good. The Retrosonic is great too (maybe better?) Doesn't seem to suck tone. Guest Guest
VERY transparent for a phaser. That's exactly what I didn't like about the Retrosonic.
Members erksin
That's exactly what I didn't like about the Retrosonic. Yeah - I like a lot of chew and warmth from a phaser, and if its a little inprecise and lopsided to give it some sideways movement it's that much better. That's what the Malekko does. Its very cool sounding and very simple to dial in.
Members Jules-RM
That's exactly what I didn't like about the Retrosonic. I don't like most phasers because of how they mangle the sound. No issues with Flange doing that, for some odd reason.
Members doppelbanger
slight volume drop okay? here's, imo, the best phaser out there. $30 small stone bigger than a boss.
Members AidyCM
Nano Small Stone = awesomes without the volume drop and massive pedalboard footprint. The Malekko one is very nice, too.
Members Mind_Riot89
bigger than a boss. But not much. Plus you get top jacks.
Members IamBurnout
But not much. Plus you get top jacks. This. When you account for the patch cables, the Small Stone is the same horizontal size.

Members frankiej
SubDecay Quasar? The baby Quasar would be a very good option. I liked the Quasar when I had it. It's pretty "watery" to me but it didn't go quite deep enough for my liking. I'd recommend it over the a Phase 90, MXR, and Boss phasers. It'd be a tie with the small stone because the small stone is cheap and its a phaser that engulfs your tone, which I'm pretty fond of.

Members MadMax808
I really like my Whirlwind Orange Box phaser. I have a big black box Small Stone on my board, too, but I hardly use it since I got the Orange Box.
Members tattoedsailor
Which MXR? 74' Vintage Phase 90. By far one of my favorites. Great for Rush tones.
