Members Steve the Hero
Thought I'd share here, you guys seem down with DIY stuff. I recently got an Emperor cab and had a Lonestar rackmount head, it looked like this: Over my holiday break I picked up some 3/4" Birch and got cracking on a new headshell for my Lonestar. Here's what I came up with: Check out them joints son! I know the stain isn't completely matching but I'm pretty happy with the results. Emperors are hard to match beauty wise but I think this looks much better than the rackmount version which I never planned on using. All in all I think I spent about $40 in doing this conversion too
Members NetStar
Looks good, man! But I think you should put a Mesa logo on the wood panel as it looks a bit bare.

Still on the fence about that! I was almost considering making this thread a poll on whether or not I should keep it. It's an easy fix either way though. Thank you! Members humancertainty
I think you should leave it as it is.Nice work, by the way.

Members Let It Burn...
get the same fabric as the grill cloth and use it on the front panel. Add the Mesa logo too

Add the Mesa logo too Unfortunately salt and pepper grill cloth is like $35 a yard which would pretty much double the cost of my project. It would look cool but I'm cheap! Here's a link to some cheaper cloth http://www.lopoline.com/catalog/item/3698274/6925777.htm Looks great though
Members claytonjohn18
That's some solid craftsmanship, man. I definitely think the Mesa logo would spruce it up a little bit, but it really doesn't make a difference. Go with what you feel.
Members Steve the Hero
Thanks guys! Just picked up a new dovetail jig and wanted to try it out so the joints came out nice and tidy. An older style boogie logo might look cool and give it even more of a custom feel. And thanks for the link to the cheaper grill cloth, thats an option too!
