Members companyman
A wound G can be a mother{censored}er if you bend a lot. I bent the G more than I realised until I tried it out.A plain G has the lowest tension of any string (and is more susceptible to going out of tune) whilst a wound G has the highest tension of any of your strings. I play the acoustic all the time, and don't really see it as an issue...guess I like a little fight in my action.

Members magmadeth
I'm currently running 11's in D standard. Gonna switch to 12's soon. Looooove heavy strings. Plus when people who use 9's pick up your guitar they struggle:evil:

Members AnderMocs
I can't use anything else now. 9s and 10s feel like rubber bands.
Members booher
I used to play 12s, 13s, and 11s, depending on the guitars. Then I tried the same exact guitar I had with a set of 10s on it with a setup that just felt completely comfortable. The tension on the strings was perfect, the height off of the fretboard the entire length of the neck was perfect, and I could have swore I was playing something other than 10s. Moral of my CSB: a good setup will get you better tone more than just changing gauge.
