humbucker sized P-90's in a strat???

Not to highjack the OP's thread but do you BB fans find that they are slightly noisier and more susceptible to noise than a standard HB? I realize that they are not potted so I am sure that is why. The slight noise is a small tradeoff for that tone.

 

 

Maybe slightly? Not a ton of noise for me.

No love for the good old Gibson P94T? If you like the original p90 it's the same sound, but humbucker sized. I might just kind of be a gibson pickup fanboy I guess though. They just tend to work for me.

 

 

I had the P-94s in my Tele previous to the Z-90s - I found them dull and fairly muddy, overwound sounding pickups. The Z-90s by contrast are very lively and articulate despite being high output.

 

The Z-90s are cheaper too.

Same jam session with the same set up, added a Screew Driver for the more fuzzed out part, and switch to the neck around 5:30 or so:
