I agree 100%, really disgusting to see that this is what people do in a time like this. I've also noticed that almost all looters they've shown were black, but some were hispanic as well. I wouldn't put it past the media to be showing racially slanted coverage though. I find it hard to believe that there aren't any rednecks looting in this situation as well.

Maybe most of the looters they show are black & hispanic, because they might just be the bulk of the people doing the looting? ;)

I can empathize with some people looting food. I have heard reports of people carrying canned goods, sodas and diapers out. C'mon...give these poor people a break.

On the other hand there's guys flaunting bags full of designer jeans and jewelry right in front of the National Guard. These people should be dealt with severely.

Bottom line, the quicker that people can be rounded up to deliver aid, the less we will hear about the looting, and law enforcement will be able to swiftly deal with those that are flagrantly taking advantage of the situation.

Sadly, I fully expected looting. It seems that when many people believe the risk of being caught is low, it brings out the worst in them. In other words, their true colors are revealed. Hopefully, they'll catch a lot of the dirtbags.

Although from the reports I've seen it's mostly grocery stores that people are hitting. Apparently food is in short supply down there now... :( :( :( :(

Yes, I agree there is a BIG difference in looting for supplies that you're family needs vs. goods that you want but can't afford. It seems like there is a lot of the latter going on though. They were saying something about casinos in Biloxi being hit.

I'm the last one to promote looting but this is a little different than the LA riots.

If you've looked at the news some of these people have NOTHING....NOTHING.

So swiping a loaf of bread from a trashed store thats mostly going to be thrown out anyway is OK in my book when your whole neighborhood is destroyed.

Until I see people walking out with TVs and couches I think the situation is still civil for the most part.

When all is said and done, I guarantee there will be loads of non-essential, non-food items missing.

There seems to be a lot of water. At least they won't get dehydrated.:o

I agree 100%... as long as they aren't hoarding and/or taking *everything* off the shelve leaving others to go without.

The storeowners will be paid off

It doesn't look that bad. The human body filter can work some magic if it needs to;) Unless it's ocean water.

Unfortunatley if that's New Orleans it probably is mostly ocean water since they're below sea-level. As for the human body filter, I think most would die from dehydration due to dysentery if they drank that water. :(
