I agree. A nation as wealthy as ours is supposed to be, we sure have way too of people starving and living in poverty, truly sad. The US is not perfect and there many, many things that we need to change in order for us to survive. Politics aside, we need to focus on our issues here before we go abroad and help. This is a terrible tragedy, and instead of shooting your mouths to someone across the pond, do something constructive with the anger, go to NO and try to help. It sure is easier for you than for us over here... I agree, seems like most of them have sand in their vagina if they read something they don't agree with and take it personally.+1 to Shonuf, the whole patriotism attitude really gets on my tits. It is unbelieveable that this situation is taking place in the US, the (and please don`t get this wrong) "big helpful brother", because that IS your role. It is difficult to understand that your government is able to have troops deployed to another country in 48 hours, but still haven`t found good enough logistics to help the poor people in dire need of assistance on your own continent. I know the mayor of NO agrees with me, I heard him say so on the 9 o clock news myself: "I ain`t seen no goddam boats.." But I`m also aware that you don`t get the whole story though mass media, of course.

Members DannyM
Who cares what Europe thinks or what their point of view is on Nola ???Nola is an isolated incedent. That community is not a reflection of the entire country or all of its citizens. The countries and people bashing or raggin on the USA just have 'Super Power Nation' envy. Members Riverdragon
This thread is ridiculous. The person that posted this makes it seem as if the whole country is going crazy. New Orleans is one city in one state in this big ass country. We are all very sad that it is happening but to be honest in the rest of the country it's business as usual. Besides, if you base what you know of the U.S. by what you see on TV then I feel sorry for you.

Members Cackalacky
I think it's time for America to re-adopt isolationism, stop giving so much money to other countries, pull out of all wars.......build a giant bubble over the country, don't let anyone in or out, and be completely self contained. This is the only logical solution.

Members DannyM
Originally posted by g0lp Sadly, I have to disagree with you ---- I think that community is a very good reflection of a large part of our country's population Well.....Put me in a situation where my family were stranded or trapped in a city with no electricity, food or transportation and I'd be in the streets packing a few hand guns (for protection) out "looting" fresh water, food and baby formula. I dont like whats going on in Nola.....but some of those people are just trying to survive. Those stealing tv's, vcr's are idiots. There is no power in the city for weeks or maybe even for months. The low lifes raping and murdering people is really nothing new......watch your local news. It happens every day all over the country. So yes....in a way it is a reclection of whats going on all over the USA and the world. So it really shouldnt be so shocking to anyone here in the USA or anywhere in the world.
