Members Tosis Maguill
So, Marshall Mode Four...I think it's broken.Tell me what to do.There's the buzzing and clicking noise when you turn it on, and it's continuous.Anybody recommend doing anything about it?Any ideas as to what it is? Members Exocaster
Do these have a cooling fan in them? I know the AVT 50 head as a cooling fan; that could be a potential source of noise. Is the sound coming from the head itself or through the speakers when the amp is on? If it's from the head, take off the back panel and listen to see where it might be coming from. If it's through the speakers, try swapping out the two preamp tubes. Like others have said, its probably the cooling fan. Sell that toneless boat anchor and get a used 5150 and a good clean amp like a Twin or JC-120. You'll end up with money in your pocket and tones that {censored} all over the M4.

Members Songman68
If it is the fan, that can more than likely easily be replaced. Well it would be easy for me to replace. I am not sure how good you are at electronics repair. If it is the fan then replace it and sell it.
