Members Tomkeen
Following the best gear related purchase of 2009, here is the decade version. What was your best purchase from 2000 - 2009? Mine was probably either the Triton Extreme or PC3x. The TEx was my first "pro" board and caused me to learn a little more about programming and splitting/layering. It also sounded excellent to me at the time, and to the band. Now the PC3x, could there be a more complete board? Yes. Is it awesome anyway? Yes. Members r05c03
Well, I would consider my purchase of the Moog Moogerfooger Low Pass Filter both my best and worst purchase of the the decade. The best because with the purchase of the MF-101, my eyes were first opened to the world of of sound synthesis, leading to all subsequent purchases....The worst for the same reason... Members The Pro
Buying a DJ rig was a good move for me. It paid for itself right away and still makes money today. I'm one of the few DJ's in Atlanta that can play piano for the wedding and/or reception then throw a DJ dance party after.

Members Spleencage
Boy, thats a tough one to answer. But I'd have to say my Mac Pro tower, its the heart (maybe no the soul) of my studio. I would not be able to earn a living without it, and its power enables me to do work I would not have been able to do otherwise.

Members rhat
SKB soft case for a 88. Not a good buy though, The thing is a piece of {censored} and is falling apart after two months. I am just starting the wrangling process with them now over it. I told customer service that I could use my other SKB case ,, but it fell apart too in a little over a year. she said well you prolly put too heavy a keyboard in it. I said my roland is sub 40 pounds. I am not going to send them this case till I have a new one in my hands. I need it to gig. A picture saves a thousand words..... I am going to be a big enough pain in the ass that its easier just to ship me a new case. My best buy of the decade is my three srm450 mackies at 400 a pop I needed to vent about the {censored}ty case

Members soundxplorer
I'm going to get creative here. The best thing for myself over the past decade: I "purchased" a service from my bank in the form of a separate savings account for gear. Then I paid off a crapload of debt and shredded my credit cards.
Members bruto
Roland MKS-70 (favorite synth) Epiphone Casino (1983, Made in Japan by Matsumoku) Epiphone Valve Junior amp - just bought it last summer. Played around with different tubes until I got the sound right. Now it's the best sounding guitar amp I've ever owned.
Members clusterchord
when it comes to synths, probably these two fit the bill, as they are most used, and have inspired me to no end, for the good part of the decade, and continue to do so. as for other things, these two boxes (on top of the rack) gave me the space and dimension i always wanted in my music. really changed the way i work and mix. while at it, the unit below, the old JD990 i bough new in '93, is definitely my best gear related purchase of the previous decade, used it on tons of projects. tehnically, it made possible for me to buy a lot of gear that came later.
