I've done that, but it only makes it a link instead of embedding the image in the post. Well it seems to be working now.

Well, I have been playing 2 to 4 nights per week the past few years, and I recently (about 2 months ago) decided to stop playing live for a while (most likely a year or so). Simply needed a break, and was hoping to focus a bit more on my studio work and song writing (I don't seem to write much when I'm playing that many gigs).

So I've dumped ALL of my live rig and stripped my studio down to the basics. I was hoping to focus less on the equipment and more on the music or song writing side.

So my current setup is simple:

-Laptop with Sonar 4 Producer Edition

-SampleTank XL 2 (soon to be 2.1)

-Amplitube for all of my guitar tones (but after hearing some of Jeez's stuff I plan on using it to process some of my synth and key tones as well...can't wait to play around with that)

-Melodyne 2.6

-Novation X-Station 25 (love this little unit...this and Sonar have done more to help me think more about music and less about the equipment than anything else...I'm very comfortable with both...been using Sonar since it came and can do all I want with it in my sleep, and the x-station is simple an easy to use and fun toy/controller/synth/sound card).

-A custom Ibanez guitar

-RODE NT1A Mic

-and a Casio wk3500 (used as a controller, and may be replaced soon...but it gets the job done, and I love the built in speakers so that I can just turn it on and start playing, getting to work right away...so we'll see...I would never use any of it's tones, but it does get a lot of use around my house).

At home:

Ensoniq SD1

Roland JV1080

Alesis Ion

Alesis Nanoverb

Behringer MX602a

Radio Shack multimedia speakers

stands by QuikLok, Standtastic & OnStage

Live rig:

I always start with the SD1 on a TubeTech stand and add the JV1080 and/or Ion as the set list requires. My only live gig (so far) is a regular spot in the worship band at church. I run my outputs through Radio Shack or Rolls DI boxes into the sanctuary's PA.

This photo is not up to date (pre-Nanoverb):

Chris

CLP 120, IIRC. Probably the same thing you play, but with more wood. Feels and sounds real, and that's good enough for me. Plus, I don't have to tune it !

Very nice. The CLP-120 is the most expressive one layer Acoustic Piano sample I have played.

The live rig is the only rig for me... just the P120 and an Alesis Ampliton for tremolo when I'm using EP's (or for the occasional "helocoptor" sound*). I plan on getting a Nord Electro before the end of the year, though.

*The "helicoptor sound" is achieved by matching the tremolo's frequency with the note's frequency (or half the note's frequency). This tends to work better with low acoustic piano notes, and a square-wave envelope.
