Members Bubba5151
I just heard from a Peavey dealer that this is the case? Heard he was going with Marshall. Rumor or fact?

Members Herald of Light
They'll just rename it, and then raise the price, like always. The XXX was George Lynch's signature lamp, if I remember correctly. They didn't even bother renaming it, but they sure jacked the price once they didn't have to pay him any royalties anymore. That don't make no sense. Paying no royalties would mean less cost to the company. If they didn't have to do that any more, why would they raise the cost? After all I thought the whole point of putting an artist's name on something was so that they could charge more for it (LOOK! Kurt Cobain used this paper towel!! I'll give it to you for only $3000!!) The 6505 immediately had an increased price over the 5150 after it was released, and has only continually gone up since, despite them allegedly paying Eddie $100 for each one, and the XXX was like $900 when it was actually still George Lynch's signature amp. Now it's about $1,200.

I was taking a dump and reading an older Musiciansfriend catalog and the 6505 used to be like $949, XXX $999, and the JSX $1199. Now they are about $1159, $1249, and $1349 respectively. A little off topic, but even the SM57 about 3 years ago was $79 new and now it's like $99 new. If you look at all companies, within the past 3-5 years all prices have been jacked up. Members Introspectre
I'd switch from Peavey to Marshall if I were Satch, too.
Members Stazinish
I tried a JSX and thought it was just ok. I actually liked the vintage modern a little better.
Members Letitroll
Why spend the money on a JSX when you could make your own cheap. Just take any tube amp, put a Wah between the guitar and amp, click it on and leave the pedal down. Instant JSX!

Members TheAtomicJeff
JSX....$1349 respectively. One of the Dallas GC's (and I assume others around the country) were blowing the JSX heads out at $1088 during last weekend's big sale. It sounds like they may indeed be discontinued(?). Members Marshredder
The JSX wasnt a bad amp, bit overrated around here when it first came out, it was the big thing for a while. The VM is very touch and go, some sound amazing, some sound {censored}...
Members NaturalBornBoy
As far as I'm concerned, Satch should never have left Marshall. Compare his tone on the Live in San Francisco dvd and the G3 dvd with Vai and Petrucci and you'll know what I'm talking about.
Members Shask
The cost of raw metals and transportation has went up a lot lately, so that could be part of the price hike. Hell, even $.99 value menu items will be $1.25 soon

Members rockon1000
No offense meant to JSX users but it would be no big loss IMO. I tried forever to like mine but in the end it had to go. It never sounded as warm or thick as a XXX or Ultra. They took a XXX and reworked it to sonic death.
