Members Mavesicles
ok, its the slant cab. how do i tell which speakers? If the gold tag at the bottom left on the front of the cab says 1960B then it has G12 75's. If it says 1960BV, it has V30's

Members dcooper830
Now here's something interesting................. I've heard the 1960AV/B cabs are loaded with Celestion "Vintage" Speakers.... but they're not actually Vintage 30s. I have a 1960AV but I've never taken the back off to look. They sound like Vintage 30s to me........ I think. Marshall 1960AV Features: * 300W 4x12 straight 4/16 ohm, mono; 8 ohm stereo. * The extra warm sounding Marshall/Celestion 'Vintage' speaker - rated at 70 Watts each - (1960AV/BV) * Black grille cloth / white piping * Large white logo * Black elephant grain vinyl

Marshall rates them at 70 watts, for whatever reason. IIRC Mesa does the same. The ones in the Mode Four cab have a heavier magnet.

Members LA-Ü-RA
My 1960B had G12T75's and my 1960AV has Marshall Vintage by Celestion speakers. These cabs were probably built in the late 80's early 90's.

Members Exocaster
I agree and you are correct sir. I was going off this post:That's definitely a misprint. I should know- I have the cab, and I took the speakers out of there a couple weeks ago.
