Which Marshall Cab has the Vintage 30s, 1960A or 1960B?

Now here's something interesting.................

I've heard the 1960AV/B cabs are loaded with Celestion "Vintage" Speakers.... but they're not actually Vintage 30s.

I have a 1960AV but I've never taken the back off to look.

They sound like Vintage 30s to me........ I think.

Marshall 1960AV Features:

* 300W 4x12 straight 4/16 ohm, mono; 8 ohm stereo.
* The extra warm sounding Marshall/Celestion 'Vintage' speaker - rated at 70 Watts each - (1960AV/BV)
* Black grille cloth / white piping
* Large white logo
* Black elephant grain vinyl

They're Vintage 30s, rebadged for Marshall. Marshall rates them at 70 watts, for whatever reason. IIRC Mesa does the same. The ones in the Mode Four cab have a heavier magnet.

Could be, but 4 70-watt speakers does not equal 300 watts for the cab. Hmmm.

Mesa's Recto cabs say 280 watts total on them.
