Members King Loudness
eh, I am thinkin of picking up a Randall 4x12 with the Jaguar speakers in it. How do they sound for progressive shred or 80s metal? The amp I would be getting with it is a Peavey Triumph 60 boosted with a modded BOSS SD-1 [if needed]. Members supa_scoopa
I tried getting info on these and it seems very difficult here. Basically celestion copies either of a v30 or cl-80 I think. Maybe even manufactured by Celestion.
Members King Loudness
would they sound any good with a Peavey Triumph 60 head?

Members K-Bizzle
don't remember the his screen name, but a guy at the Ampfest had a madison going through a randall cab that I'm guessing had jaguars in it. I thought it sounding pretty damn good actually.
Members Agreed
Jaguars are really nice speakers. A 4x12 Jaguar compact cab would be a great cab for an early guitarist who wants better tone. I've played high gain tube amps, low gain tube amps, high gain SS amps, and even low gain SS amps through a Jaguar 4x12 compact and it handles it all well. I disagree that it's bright, sounded darker to me - more forgiving, imo.

Members paintkilz
dude. youre young.. you cant beat that price. you could save more and still get the mark.. then think about it.. a marka triumphand a jaquar loaded cab itd be a tough little setup, sure you can get any tone you want with that. Members Brick
read the price. Here ya go: Snipe Mark III off of ebay or other craigslist, and just take the long hard cock of shipping/customs etc... It will still be cheaper than that
Members RaceU4her
they are great. eminence makes them. definately the best bang for the buck. i have a 4x12 and a oversized 2x12. its like a fuller sounding gt75 with a little smoother top end

Members paintkilz
WIN WIN WIN! I think thats the ticket. youre young, but youre getting it. you can never have too much gear. when you think of the overall price, its like $200 apiece...most tube heads are worth $200 in decent condition, and think if you keep buyin gear what your collection will be like when your pushing 30...ALL KINDS! on a side note- went to GC and they had a Parker Fly, used for $599....so bummed, it didnt work...told them and the noobs didnt believe me..till the realized someone was messing around inside it. told the noobs, you dont mess with somethin as intricate as that. really wanted to play it too...sorry it was kinda out of left field, but whenever i read your posts, i remember you play Parkers...amazing. Members Verne Andru
I ended up with a Randal high-gain 30 watt SS combo on a trade. Try as I might, I simply don't like the sound of the amp - but I tried running it as a 1x12" extension cab and must say the stock Jaguar speaker sounds great, so that's how it's been earning it's keep doing ever since.
