Members xnickbeex
OK so what will it be? getting a new guitar this week. The Monterey is much cheaper than the eclipse....they both seem totally sweet but they are pretty similar...making it a very hard decision. so you guys should help me decide! Members sirlimecat
go for the one with better playablility, you can swap pups, and all that jazz after buy, but a player is a keeper

Members peavey_impact
If you are talking about the Monterey Elite, go with that one. Way cooler than the ESP.

Members OverDriven
I'm a huge fan of the ESP Eclipse II. My only recommendation is to rip out those stock EMGs and put in something passive.
Members MattACaster
Fernandes guitars suck. Eclipse all the way.

Members fistacuffs
the standard series eclipse will not let you down great attention to detail build wise, and they all play really well.
Members wolfspider
Eclipse is a keeper, as been said just change the Pu's.

Members o n i o n
Sorry to sound like a complete novice, but what is the reason for dropping EMG's for passive P-Ups in the Eclipse?
Members JoshuaLogan
Sorry to sound like a complete novice, but what is the reason for dropping EMG's for passive P-Ups in the Eclipse? There is no reason. Don't listen to them. Just make sure it's an 85 or 89 in the bridge if you're using EMG's. And if you don't care about having a single coil sound (like the 89 has), I'd check out the Seymour Duncan Blackouts....
