Members hazard29
Does anyone have any previous experience using these cabs? I just bought 2 of them, (one angles and one straight for a full stack) and I am confused as to what head would really work with this setup with the current stock configuration. Both of these cabs are 4 ohm mono (or 8ohm stereo) so how could any head work with both of these cabs at the same time, the head would be at 2 ohms. Anyone have a clue as to what head was supposed to be a match for the Jackson cabs?

Yes, very cool amps that didn't sell at all. MF finally closed out the 50 and 100 watt reference heads for under $300 back in the mid? 90s. Members tlbonehead
So did these heads have capability to run at 2 ohm?I don't know. Doubtful. Aren't they switchable 4/16 ohms mono?
Members hazard29
no switch, 1 input jack for 4 ohm, and there are 2 input jacks for 8 ohm stereo. No 16 ohm option on this cab
Members tlbonehead
Weird. Unless the amp's speaker outs were in series.

Members tlbonehead
I don't get why it matters if you don't have the head anyway.
Members guitarbilly74
maybe the other jack can also be used as an output to daisy chain the 2 cabs in series and give you 8ohms. Either that or you'd need to rewire your cab .. check your speakers individual impedance.. if your cab is 4ohms you probably have either: a- 4 16ohms wired in parallel or b- 4 4ohms speakers wired in series/parallel if option a (16ohms drivers) you would need to rewire then in series/parallel for 16ohms if option b (4ohms drivers) you would need to rewire then in series for 16ohms get a multimeter and measure the resistance of each speaker, it will be a little lower than the actual impedance, a read out of 2-3ohms indicates a 4ohm speaker.. a readout of 9 and above indicates a 16ohm speaker.
