Members cobrahead1030
i've liked one every time i've played it...but in all honesty i've never heard a band that sounded terribly great using one, and never heard a clip of one that blew me away personally i'd like to have one myself to really try out

Members Kyle DiSanto
JlC... You make a really great point about the amp having that "pre-recorded" sound to it. I think I'm drawn to amps like that hahaa lol. It definitly has a more refined sound to it and I could see it recording pretty well. Hm....the gass continues
Members zbasstringer
Slightly about the amp, as told by my guitar teacher: The local store near me, Dale's Music, was a long time Peavey dealer. Joe Satriani actually came to the store when the amp came out. He played through it, and kept saying somethin was rattling. It turned out that one little screw in the cab was slightly loose. Joe has a crazy good ear.Just my opinion, you can get {censored}ty tones out of the JSX, but you can also get some damn fine tones out of them. Members Romanian Reaper
I think if most amps were perfect, everyone on this forum would still have their first one from high school. Right now I have the modded Marshall and JSX which is perfect because once I get sick of one, I can switch to the other for awhile.
Members kmanick
mine was one of the easiest amps to record with that I've ever owned. I may get another one down the road at some point.
Members guitarbilly74
I can not relate to this statement in the least.Heres some clips of minehttp://tindeck.com/listen/eayfhttp://tindeck.com/listen/ijtlhttp://tindeck.com/listen/nenw great clips. The JSX is a great amp, like the whole Ultra Series it has active EQ, which takes time to learn how to use it, but once you do it's great. The number 1 mistake people with these amps is try to EQ it like their would their other amps and that doesn't work on the JSX.
Members marshalldude
Have any of you guys tried using turning the master almost up all the way and using the channel volumes as your masters? I tried this during my last band practice and it sounded a lot less compressed and clearer in the mids. It added some top end which I fixed with the eq but I really liked it alot. Members FalseRevRG
potentially crazy idea...the other guitarist in my band desperately needs new tubes for his JSX, and i got to thinking...is it possible to run KT88s in the JSX without any mods?
