Members Meatbeard
Its a heritage ac-30 h2 with alnico blues. It sounds AMAZING. But, after day 2 of having it, this crackling "cruising through radio stations" static typed sound is just overbearing. Went down to G.C today, put all new preamp tubes in it. STILLL DOING IT. Then (never owning an ac-30 before) I dont even know how the hell to access the damn power tubes!!! Help!!!

Members DirtyBird
It's not something in the signal chain? I take it you've tried multiple cables and nothing between the guitar and amp?
Members hecticone
Sounds like you could have a power problem in that house.
Members Ron Burgandy
It could also be the rectifier tube.

Members Meatbeard
All of the stock tubes are notorious for being POS. Thats quite possibly the case. I guess I cant give it a completely accurate diagnosis until I have changed them all. I need to figure out how to get in there!!!

They're at a 90* angle from the preamp tubes.
