The Peace Song - Pete Seeger Story

In the 1980's, I attended a gathering of topical musicians and songwriters in New York City. It was a great event; with workshops, networking, jamming, and, on the final night, an open stage. Each participant was able to get up and do one song. I decided to do one of my originals, The Peace Song, since it had a sing-along chorus. As I stood on the stage and looked out at the audience, I saw Pete Seeger singing along with me. What a role reversal! What a thrill!! That remains one of my best performance memories. I imagine, however, that the moment made a lesser impact on Pete. ;)

Anyway, here is the song (Third down on the list). Feel free to comment on the song or the story.

That's a great story!

But since a primary focus of this forum is the constructive criticism of works in progress and this forum quickly fills up with finished work and self-promo, otherwise, we've restricted the posting of finished songs to the sticky thread at the top of the forum listings:

Share YOUR songs-post your mp3's HERE

... and the monthly "Showcase" threads:

Here's the link for the latest, Feb 2009: http://acapella.harmony-central.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2237558

You should always be able to find a link to the latest Showcase Thread in this sticky thread:

SW Forum RULES (read this BEFORE posting!) :: RESOURCE LIST

... which also lays out the simple, no-nonsense rules of this on topic only, work oriented forum.
