Video made by gibsons about the whole process of replicating Claptons '64 335! I was surprised to see the guitar has Patent number pickups and not PAF's. Definatley worth a watch! Members Marshredder
Bump for a cool video, also awesome watching every last stage of building a 335, theres definatley a lot of effort/manhours in building a guitar like this, even if they do lack quality sometimes

After 62, most were Pat#'s. You just got incredibly lucky that your 67 has a PAF. That's the latest I've heard of for non gold plated.

That's the latest I've heard of for non gold plated. I thought they were discontinued in 64? Thats why I was also surprised to see that claptons had Pat numbers. I'd heard of '67's having PAF's before, but I think its EXTREMELY rare. As far as I can tell, when they got the patent they started pouring out loads of Pat Numbers, and the left over PAF's sort of just got mixed in in that process and put in a guitar whenever they were grabbed out the stocks. Whats the difference between PAF's and early Pat Numbers anyway? Is it really that huge or just the sticker on the back? As far as I can tell (from the differnet positions) the PAF and Pat number in mine are very similar tonally.
