Members liamlw
Marshall super lead / bass, jcm800s, ampegs, orange, electric, metamp, sunn, hiwatt just crank the {censored} out of any decent amp man! a lot of it is being LOUD... with a good bassist and drummer to fill up the whole sound... early qotsa is a cranked ampeg v4/b with a sd-1... i think fu manchu use marshall dsl 100s? helmet is kinda different, page is running VHTs ultra leads now and in the early stuff he used jcm800s with some other stuff in the rack? Members ganjaseed
the thermion is REALLY good for that kind of stuff. seriously. You suggest this amp for very different kind of tones. Is it really that versatile?
Members Introspectre
Marshall DSL. Good choice. I played one of the reissues recently, and, while it wasn't what I was looking for, it would be very well-suited for stoner. Very dark and thick with tons of gain. I would also recommend the obvious: Orange. Edit: Also, anything with a Big Muff Pi in front. My Little Big Muff is incredible for stoner/doom. Members -todgemistro-
Laney GH50L works well for me, and its cheap as chips 2nd hand.. Some clips: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=493678&songID=6720417 These arent really stoner rock, but they are riff-centric so I guess it works: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=870027&songID=7466463http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=870027&songID=6965156

Members Sixtonoize
A bass one. These are the correct answers.A ton of watts, 15" speakers, and fuzz pedals. ...and I'm pretty sure that a few of the bands you listed use this exact setup. (Although Helmet/Page Hamilton is famous for VHT usage)
