Members outforblood
I am considering buying a Vox ad30vt. Are there better amps in this price range?I play anything from classical, blues/rockabilly, to hardcore and metal. Can this amp keep up with a drummer if need be? Members tlbonehead
That's a great choice. And yes, it should if things are remotely sensible.
Members outforblood
Does the Vox tend to fail suddenly? I keep hearing horror stories about that...also the input jack.
Members AndrewGG
Try the Roland Cube 60. Plenty of volume and simple to use presets.

Members outforblood
mine haven't. I have 4 different Valvetronix models. That's good to know. Maybe the earlier models had issues.
Members BusterBuster
Does the Vox tend to fail suddenly? I keep hearing horror stories about that...also the input jack.Just check the plastic nut periodically. They work lose and then the jack can fall inside. I wish there was a law that all amplifier manufactures would have to use metal jacks :cop:
Members tlbonehead
That's good to know. Maybe the earlier models had issues. Two of mine are the earliest models and I've been gigging with them for several years. My 3rd purchase was an AD30VT, which is also a few years old. My newest is a VT15 which is not quite a year. Just don't unplug your cable from across the room and tighten the nut if it starts getting loose as mentioned. Members outforblood
How's it sound for a "modeling" amp? All modeling amps I've heard/played through are absolute crap. Can this amp produce real rich tones? Not like a Line 6.(no offense to you Line 6 people)

Can this amp produce real rich tones? Not like a Line 6.(no offense to you Line 6 people) I've played one, and am currently (although it isn't mine, I don't have any amps myself at the moment:cry:). IMHO it doesn't model that well, but what does besides something like a snax fx? I don't care for the toanz honestly, but it's either that or play unplugged all the time...soooooooo I grit my teeth and play anyway:mad: It is loud enough to play with a drummer for sure though.
