Members fretless
I like Les Pauls , I had a Standard , it was nice . But you could toss some of those Super strats & shredders down the stairs and still rock it just don't let the Paul fall of it's stand .
Members fretless
hmm I could build one http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-JEM-Body-Fits-Ibanez-JEM-neck-RG-570-parts-/270619022987?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item3f0226968b
Members King Loudness
I've had more shredders than any other type of ax, and of the ones I've had, I'd say the best were the EBMM JP6, Charvel San Dimas, and the Ibanez 540R. All KILLER guitars for sure, and I still own the latter two .
Members Marshallmel
Charvel 375. Compound radius, true jumbo frets, scooped out in the back for easy upper fret playability.

Members fretless
Thanks Fellas and I agree about many of these fine geetars , I actually have a few but I'm now on the hunt for a killer RG m/m/
Members RiffDaemon
If my "80's" coverband would go back to doing 80's rock/metal again, I'd HAVE to get this guitar. So drool-inducing
Members Rameumptom
If you get an RG, get a prestige with the wizard neck or try to find an older RG with the wizard neck. I've never liked the non-prestige ibby's.
Members HumanFuseBen
oh yeah, RG all the way. just make sure to get an older one, and make sure the model number is above "5xx" (like a 570, 520, 770, whatever... just nothing below 500). Members angusjohnftw
I don't like the new prestige rgs as much as the older (MIJ though) rgs. The volute and slightly fatter necks on the mid range models annoys me. I dont mind volutes usually i just dont expect them on an ibanez... haha I had a rg2570 awhile back so i'm speaking from personal experience. I also actually like the v8/v7 more than the dimarzio/ibz type pickups they put on some of the higher up models (like the 2570) so not worth the extra unless you like the asthetic. They where just a bit muddy and dull sounding to me.. The neck pickup was alright but i didnt like the bridge dimarzio/ibz. Keep in mind i dont like the v series that much either i just put up with them cause im a lazy bastard when it comes to changing pickups. I'll get them all replaced eventually. Members TomCTC
That Ibanez is sick. If you're going to get a butt rawk guitar, you might as well get the full-on butt rawk guitar.
Members fretless
Thanks Fellas , yeah I agree TVD I was so close to getting a dayglo jem but this kinda seemed a nicer way to go and it's minty fresh .

Members Just A Box
It really depends.... Do yo want it to look like the ultimate shred guitar or be the ultimate shred guitar? I mean, Paul Gilbert can shred on anything, Yngwie uses a Strat, and Greg Howe has used Strats and currently a Laguna.... Honestly, the best and fastest neck I've ever played on is from my Parker Nitefly. Literally, it's like greased lightening. Truly, you may not like the looks, but you probably can't find a faster playing guitar anywhere.
Members Rydock
I'd have to say a Warmoth super strat. Pretty much a super quality guitar, any way you want it. ESP M series are super shreddy as well if you like the specs.
