Members StevenS
I'd like to hook up my 2 Marshall 4x12's for practice tonight just for {censored}s and giggles. I've got a JCM800 with 4, and 8 ohm taps. The cabs have the 4,8,16 ohm switches on them. Anyone know how I should hook this up? Thanks!
Members Dolf
Wait...your cabinets have SWITCHES on them? Pics or it's a tranny. I'm pretty sure most marshall cabs are 16 ohm mono, 8 ohm stereo. In which case, you use the 8 ohm tap on the JCM out into one 16 ohm cab and use the passthrough into the other 16 ohm cab. Bam. Or if you have two taps that = 8 ohms, just use those into the individual 16 ohm cabs.
Members guitarbilly74
Set the 2 cabs for 16ohms and use the 8ohm tap on the amp.

Members Sixtonoize
I'm pretty sure most marshall cabs are 16 ohm mono, 8 ohm stereo. Marshall cabs are 16 (series/parallel) or 4 (parallel) mono or 8+8 stereo.
Members duncan
Set your switches at 16 ohms. Run a speaker cable from each of your two speaker outs into the 16 ohm cabinets. Set your amp to 8 ohms.
Members Dolf
Marshall cabs are 16 (series/parallel) or 4 (parallel) mono or 8+8 stereo. I didn't realize they had all 3 options. I'm used to the older 1960 cabs that are just 16 ohm anyway.
Members Norton666
Set your switches at 16 ohms. Run a speaker cable from each of your two speaker outs into the 16 ohm cabinets. Set your amp to 8 ohms. This. No daisy chaining Marshall 1960 cabs

Members StevenS
Is this the plate? Yup, that's it on both of them. So set both cabs to 16ohms, the amp at 8, and run a speaker cable to each cab from each of the amps 2 speaker outputs. This should make the boys look when they come in for practice tonight..muwahahaha Cool! Thanks guys!
