there was not one amp that didnt sound good in that room. the facilities at Crank Studios were just tops.

My favourite amp of the day goes to the Soldano Hot Rod. must have one! but ill have to investigate if there is a cheaper Jet City Alternative.

The Woogie (amp made in south australia) gets my vote for the most aggressive/mean, yet pleasant (ie not fizzy) tone, not only on the day, but that ive heard...ever!

Favourite Clean tone was the AC30 through my Framus 2x12 with mismatched speakers. simply stunning.

the Framus cab with those speakers really turned some heads...including my own...it really just stood out (thats trying it with a few diffrent amps and comparing to the other cabs, including 4x12s)

Mark V gets the versatility award, especially for being not too complex/overkill (err hmmm roadking). and the lead tones with the JP6 was pretty much a perfect pairing.

Old marshall sounded...like a good old marshall...especially after hearing the more modern DSLs.

and yeah the Digitech/Rocktron (velocity 100) Rack really was really a surprise....makes me wonder how much better an AXE-FX can be (one was meant to come down but hopefully next time)
