More Djent is played on 8 strings than cool music.

More metal is played on 7 strings than jazz.

You will find some exceptions.

I don't really know 100% what the heck "djent" actually is. :idk: I only have a vague idea...

But if Meshuggah for example is considered "djent" (and I think it is) then that IS cool music!

The bass strings sounded big and clear,

Thanks! At the time I was using .064 and .078 for the B and F#.

I have switched to larger .074 and .90 and it is an improvement.

I wanted this to fit in a 22" suitcase, so I was limited on the scale length.

But it is a little insane to try to have a low F# on a 25" scale (23.5 on treble side).

The intonation may have been a little off as I am still making neck angle adjustments and changing string gauges. At least the bridge is movable so it should be easily fixable. Here is the link to the Subdivisions thread:

He's undoubtedly a great player, but (and I never though I'd say something like this) that was a little too repetitive. Except for the intro of the 2nd song, it sounded like the same drim track on all three videos. But he's using all the strings, and is one hella player.

edit:

All IMO, of course!

Agreed!!

was cool to watch those, he is very very good !!

Something different
