Members itspat7285
hey everyone, after breaking string after string I think im now in the market for a set of new saddles, I have a fender strat with what looks like graphite saddles on it. I just broke a string a few minutes ago and saw a burr forming on one but theres seems to be about 3 strings that always break and would really just like a whole new set of saddles. I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations on which ones to get. I was searching the web and found graph tech string savers which seem tempting. If anyone has any input on this i would like to hear from you.
Members Alan Roberts
Usually saddle can be filed and polished, so you may not need to but a new set.
Members WRGKMC
I would go with different strings. Its not uncommon to get improperly temperd wire or corrosion benieth the silver coating if the strings are stale.
Members Procreatur
some high grit sandpaper(1000) is good at removing burrs, and is a lot cheaper than a set of saddles. how often do you change your strings? what strings do you use? Graphtech saddles are great IMO. Doesn't hurt to have a spare set on hand either.
