Members cacheek
Got a local guy who has a Mesa Boogie Rectoverb Series 1. He's interested in a deal on my Laney VH100r. Should I hit that?

Members ~Abstract~
Series I? No. What difference would it make if it were a Series 1 vs 2? Just EL34's can be used and there's a Raw mode...

EL34's and raw mode, which is a big deal because the Rectoverb with EL34s and in Raw mode is one of its best sounds. There is also a small gap when switching channels on the Series I. Members cacheek
There is also a small gap when switching channels on the Series I. That just killed the deal. Maybe I can find a series 2 or a different 50 watt head to trade for.

The early series II also have the gap, but it has been fixed. If you find one, by all means get the SN and contact Mesa to see if it's the latest revision before you close the deal. Also, Mesa can replace the relays for you with the new ones, but they will charge you.

Members pioneerprogress
I wondered if that CL ad was yours. But the Mesa thing kinda threw me off. I thought you said you were not a Mesa fan??

I thought you said you were not a Mesa fan?? Generally, I'm not, but thought the Rectoverb might do the trick. Just can't get into the VH100r. After all the troubles I've had, that really sucks. Live and learn though. I'd really like to get a 50 watt head or so or a 6505+. Heard one at the show at it sounded sweet. I guess you could say I'm going through amplifier growing pains.
