Members guitarbilly74
I am trying to remove my speakers and for the LAST ONE (obviously, that's the way it always goes) the nut is stripped and it's just turning in place. The screw is not turning with it, but the the nut is not coming off either. Any ideas to remove this? I don't care if I damage the nut or screw but I DON'T want to damage the speaker frame. Members NeloAngelo
take off your shirt and yell at it. ok, now that we got that out of the way, pliers for the nut and cut a notch in the screw with a dremel or something. use a flathead for the screw. that'll be $35 for the consultation. Members DEADBYDAWN
Take a drill bit and drill the head off the screw (use a drill bit close to the size of the shaft of the screw)
Members guitarbilly74
the only way I could access the head of the screw is if I remove the baffle completely and take the grill cloth off. So I will need to do it from the nut side.
Members Krank'N
Heat the nut with a soldering iron then use some vise grips or some heavy pliers. Turn the nut back on first(tighten it) and maybe it will catch the thread again. Good luck!
Members guitarcapo
If all else fails, a Dremel with a cutting wheel can cut through all that {censored} like butter. Then just replace the screw and nut with a new one.
