This was a pain in my first knuckle of my fretting hand that woke me up in the middle of the night, I honestly thought I broke it and didn't remember because it was painful, red and swollen. It just kind of went away on it's own, but the doc went through a battery of questions, and ended with "did you have a lot of seafood and beer yesterday?"
