Members Cyfan
Is this a difficult task? I am thinking of ordering an amp kit without the trannys so I can put the ones I want in there. It is a Hiwatt DR103 clone. Thanks.
Members Big Pimpin' T
It's not that hard as long as you use the proper taps. Punching the proper holes might be a bit of a challenge if your chassis isn't already drilled, but if you've got the right tools, it shouldn't be a big deal. Would you mind PM'ing me the schematics? I've been interested in Hiwatt for a while, I'd like to take a look.

I'm going to get Heyboer trannys from Vintage Hiwatt Restorations and the kit from Ceriatone. I've been talking to Nik about getting a David Gilmour DR103. Members musicdog400
If I am not mistaken you should rotate one of the transformers 90 degrees to lessen hum. I suppose you could wire it up, and _very_ _carefully_ reach in and rotate the transformer while it is on to see which way causes the least hum. Members tedmich
check Edcor.com for ~114 stock PTs and about as many OTs good prices on many...http://www.edcorusa.com/Products/Default.aspx Antek has extremely cheap toroids for PTs http://www.antekinc.com/gview.php?d[]=0 unless you are going 100% vintage Heyboer is seldom the best deal IMO.
