Members kwakatak
Thanks for the sentiments, folks. I don't know if prayers are in order since nobody's dying or anything. It's just something we've got to deal with, that's all. At this point we're all pretty tired and snappy, but this trip yesterday (while tiring) was extremely informative. Even though we've done a lot of reading on the subject we learned even more since we were able to actually talk to an "expert". We never realized that a lot of these behaviors were believed to be caused by inflammation of the brain. I'll have to PM a few of you guys. Neil--No harm in praying for someone to be given strength, understanding and acceptance when faced with such challenges. I do much more of it than when I was younger. I was smarter then, but wiser now.

Members Terry Allan Hall
Best in all things, kwak. My sister (a nutritionist) helped her daughter by scrupulously designing a very specific diet that seemed to help control Debbie's issues, so that Debbie is now living a pretty much "normal" life...a rigid diet might be one thing to discuss w/ the doctors. Members Cripes
Being more a secular so-and-so, I have to tell you to stay on top of those medical types. It is called the medical arts, afterall. Don't be shy about giving one the slip if you think it necessary. Good luck.

Members larry50
Welcome to the world of medical specialists Neil. As you know, my daughter has Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and we have been dealing with them since she was 13 months. Remember to take the long view, day to day aggravations and heartbreak notwithstanding. Sometimes the answers come slowly, but they will come. My heart is with you. As Totamus said, being a parent ain't for sissies.
