Members simplygoodmusic
Looks like you got a good guitar there, and your price range has many options. But if you are willing to extend it by just a little bit you can get yourself this: http://cgi.ebay.com/1941-C-F-Martin-D-45-Guitar-only-91-ever-made_W0QQitemZ140201217864QQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116 Which is a much better guitar, of course. Hmmm ... that's a viable option. I wonder if they'd trade it for one of my yachts? I don't really do the Yucatan coast anymore, and it's just sitting in the water, fully staffed ... Members DarkHorizon
Their only problem is they bought a cheap starter guitar rather than going for a better quality model. People do it all the time. He needs to find himself a powerful wife like mine. If I had $35,000 spare she would soon put it to good use. :poke:

Or this one. But it's got a ding on the top, so I dunno. This one has had 36 offers! I bet added together they weren't close to the asking price. Members Stackabones
Or this one. But it's got a ding on the top, so I dunno. Thank you for the tip, but that guitar is a collectible. I'm no collector; I'm a player. Perhaps my fifteen year old nephew would enjoy it for his next birthday?
Members Raymond55
Perhaps my fifteen year old nephew would enjoy it for his next birthday? I bet he would, Uncle Stack. But seriously, with that ding, I wouldn't go much over $2 million, maybe two and a half tops. I do wonder how many of those offers were for something like $500. Members larry50
The 2008 Vintage Guitar Price Guide has them at $6,500 - $7,500, so he's only just a little over market.
Members KarlG
He might have stuck with it if he had only started on a guitar that would stay in tune...
