Members panhandler
It looks a lil weird to me, specially the bridge/saddle area
Members MePeel
The bridge isn't original, and the pictures aren't very revealing. If you can play it and like it, it's an ok deal. They usually go for 6 or 7 hundred on FleaBay. Mel
Members Queequeg
Aw, there ya go candy-coating things again, Q. hey, I wanted to say it was a fricking POS, but we need to maintain some modicum of decorum around this joint.
Members panhandler
Oh I aint at all interested in it... Just curious if its a good'un or not. I don't know much about those old Gibsons. When ya hang here... you're always learning
Members Terry Allan Hall
I'm thinking that model was one of the few ladder-braced Gibsons...replacing that adjustable wooded saddle with a solid one made of bone or Tusq would vastly improved the tone, as well. Doesn't Ellen (guitarist21) play one of those (or a similar LG model)?
Members boxorox
I had one of those. Got it (sans bridge) and a dozen dress shirts for an Iver-Johnson "Woodsman" clone with a busted firing pin. Put on a new bridge. Played real nice, but the sound was, as Queeg affirms, was less than inspiring. I'm still wearing some of those shirts, but the guitar is long gone. I would not get another one. It's the poster child for "Meh..."
