Members DarkHorseJ27
Should I get an empty plywood cab that looks like a Marshall full stack, hide a Fishman Loudbox inside, and use it for acoustic gigs? It definitely get attention and make me stick out in peoples' memory. But I'd imagine most people would .

Members DarkHorseJ27
Oh that is the best thing I have seen all day. Dare I ask, who is it? It's some metal band called Immortal. Apparently this practice is quite common with many bands, and there is a considerable market for fake amps. Members guildfire
The era of mega wall amps is over. They mic them now. It's mostly for show anyway. PA systems are a lot better than back in the day when you had to blast out sound from amps only.

Members DarkHorseJ27
Should you? Not unless you want to look like a complete tool. I'd probably wouldn't do it because I don't have to money to spend on something that isn't functional, but if I did it'd be for laughs. I suspected some people would have that reaction, however. Members Stackabones
I read how Kiss did that in the early days and would instruct the lighting guys to keep the spotlights off the amps. Even the bands who can afford all the amps will just mic one. It's showbiz. Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.
