Something small, portable and accurate? Here's a few and I just happen to own (and the music store I work at sells/sold them)

Seiko ST777

Seiko SAT500

Sabine ZOID Z-2000

Snark SN1 (the red one - chromatic, clips on and uses vibrations and internal mic with visible metronome)

Snark SN2 (the blue one - chromatic, clips on and has visible metronome)

Snark SN3 (the blue box - chromatic, produces sound, audio and visible metronome)

and when it absolutely has to be in tune

Petersen 420 chromatic tuner

Conn ST-11 tuner

Alot of choices I know. However, all 3 Snarks work great. The only problem with the Snarks is the on-off switch. You just touch it and it comes on. Dont know if it times off or not-havent tried it. Personally I dont think it does on the SN3 which causes headaches if you dont have backup AAA batteries.

Both Seikos I have used as backup tuners for tuning pianos when neither the Petersen or Conn refused to work.

When I play out the tuner out on my amp feeds either of the Seikos. It looks weird to constantly have a clip-on tuner on your bass headstock.
