Members geek_usa
Anybody try these? They have a really interesting in-between gauge at 12-52. Wondering if they are any good!
Members DeepEnd
Been wondering about Hi Beams for a while. I may have to order a set online. I use 80/20's exclusively on my Ibanez. As for the gauge, it's actually 12-54: http://www.drstrings.com/catalog/hi-beam-8020, the same as just about any other .012 gauge string. DR calls their 12's "mediums." Ernie Ball calls the same gauge string "medium light." Martin, D'Addario, and numerous others simply call them "lights." Nothing really "in between" about them unless you're used to Ernie Balls or something else where they can't get the name straight. BTW, John Pearse makes a "bluegrass" set that's 12-56; the E-D are mediums and the G-E are lights: http://www.jpstrings.com/brstring.htm#acoustic. There's your "in between" gauge. Members Terry Allan Hall
A lot of ".012" sets (D'Addario, John Pearce, GHS, Elixer, et al) have a .053 on the low E...kinda prefer a .54, myself, but .053 is close enough....052 is a little light to me. Probably a typo on Elderly's part; I'd think DR would describe their own product accurately. BTW, I love Jesus too.
