It has the same ceramic humbuckers as my AL-2500 which I love but the neck profile is ever so slightly thinner. He does not play it as much as I probably would being a strat kind of guy. Plus it is pretty BIG not heavy really just BIG i guess like all explorer type guitars. It plays real well though and does so with a minimal amount of set-up work having been needed.
