Moderators Ratae Corieltauvorum Posted April 30, 2007 Moderators Share Posted April 30, 2007 I have an offer in on another of this guys guitars, but this one is well worth a look for LP lovers http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1980-Gibson-LES-PAUL-Custom-Silverburst-ambered_W0QQitemZ220106729675QQihZ012QQcategoryZ33040QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Members bloolight
I really like that finish. What does it mean that its "ambered"? Is this a finish option that Gibson offered from the factory, or is that something that was done post-sale? Whatever it is, I like it a lot better than a silverburst finish. Members fluoreszenz
Thanks for the link. what a fine looking guitar  if i only had the money, i would get this Paul in a heartbeat... ...it was build on my birthday, at least the humbuckers were stamped that day! always thought i should get a Gibson build that year/day; would be a keeper, for sure

Members LaXu
Ugly finish. Also looks like it has a bit too much neck angle.

Members curseoftruth
Guys, its just a Silverburst that has turned green. I've never heard the term ambered. All of the early 80s Silverbursts will do this eventually.
