Members MrChrisos
Its all too easy to find atricles and reviews comparing PAF replicas, Antiquity and Fralin; the archive, as well as the argument, goes on and on. But what if you want to split the coils? I'm looking to get my first split coil for the bridge of my SG, to give me a great lead sound (blues/dirtyblues/rock) once I switch to single coil. Every website is happy to tell me how great their pickups are, how they're wound, providing sound samples, etc. But nowhere can I find a decent example of a split coil. Please, I throw this open to all, which will give me the greatest sound and does anyone know any links that have examples? (And no cheeky remarks about just selling my SG and buying a strat!!) Members tlbonehead
For true tapping, the Barden Two-Tone is the only pickup I know of. For splitting, I get useful tones out of most PAF/Hot PAF pickups. They work great.
Members Jaymeister
Lindy Fralin Unbucker should be on your list
Members peavey_impact
If you actually mean tapped humbuckers, then i dont know. But for coil split sounds, the seymour duncan distortion is pretty great. sounds kinda like a hot tele bridge pickup.

Members Noak
My experience is that high output pickups work best for split/parallell modes. Dimarzio super distortion is always a great choice
Members 's mel gibson
DiMarzio's ain't bad but they're a little bit too thick. There's No real high end I know. The reason I have them is because at the time, there were no other choices and I'm too lazy to change anything. Here.!
