Myspace networking

There's some really good music on myspace. Much better than what's in record stores over here. And most of the people I've chatted with have been pretty cool. And I get to screw around on the internet on my bosses time. Not a bad deal.

I did it at the insistance of my kids - both of whom are big on MS. I rarely check it, and even less frequently change or post anything. I really wish I had done it as a MySpace Music page - then I could at least U/L client material (with permission of course).

So, myspacers, what benefits have you gained from your myspace pages?

(I see that Phil has collected some hottie friends!)

A few of those I sought out - but a few sought ME out!
I nearly fell over when I got a personalized friends request from T-Bone Burnett.

Hey Phil, hope you got my invite to add me. :thu:

Well my space has been so useful these last few weeks as you can see on my pages by the invites I have had.

I have had more work out of it than i would have ever expected and a few major deals where I travelled over to the US of late and it made me realsie that my buisness is useful especially when theres so much REAL talent out there.

I think its invaluable to have such a networking web based engine like my space and I think its worth using the contacts you make on there as I have.

I love it to bits and its bloody addictive!

I am going to revamp my page soon so look out for plants :D

Ours is in my sig.

We've gotten quite a few gig offers and things like that from MySpace, even though we haven't actually had the page up for very long. Several people that I thought I'd lost touch with have gotten back in touch, and quite a few unexpected people have requested adds that we wouldn't have known about otherwise. There's no doubt it's a very useful tool, even though I think HC could do it better. ;)

I really should have done it as a myspace music page, but I didn't, and I don't think I can change it to that now.
:(

I believe that this code works, I haven't tried it myself but It comes from a website I've used other codes for Myspace from.....

Convert Profile to Band Profile

Warning: If you decide to switch your profile to a band profile there is no way to switch it back.

To convert your profile to a band profile simply copy and paste the link below to your browser. Be sure you have read the warning above.

http://www.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=BandProfile.convert

I'm guessing you have to be logged in already....heres the link to the page if your interested..... http://www.coolmyspace.com/codes/general_codes/band_profile_codes.html its the last code on the page...

If you like (totally) improvised music, check these sites out:

www.myspace.com/thebandwith11names

www.myspace.com/threepointsixsix

Just 3 guys from Dover, Delaware that have been playing together for 16+ years...our only two rules: We never discuss what we are about to play, and we never play the same thing twice. I play bass (mainly).

By the way, Steve LeBlanc, that is the coolest song I've heard in a long time...flashbacks, man...

on MySpace too - I feel honored that he sent me a friends request, and that I get to be his first 'friend" - outside of Tom of course.
;)

Phil, you're too kind! The honor is all mine.

Best,

Geoff

I've had the good fortune to meet Steve in person and talk about music with him and what you (Relayer66) are talking about fits right with his philosphy. :thu:
