Where does the EQ pedal belong?

Going to get an EQ pedal probable the Fish and Chips unless someone can talk me out of it. I'm not sure where to put it in the pedal lineup. Is it after all the effects but before the amp?

Good question. I'd try it in both places, but it would make sense to go at the end of the chain to tame any offending frequencies caused by other pedals. If you think about it, your amp's eq is after all of the pedals, so it makes sense.

 

Depending on your amp, it may work good in the efx loop.

After everything in the chain except a volume pedal. The fish and chips is a great EQ.

Sometimes I use my Fish n chips EQ in the loop, as a clean boost, sometimes I use it after my Big Muff, to crank it's mid response a bit...I think I need 2 of these, 1 in the loop, and one after the dirt pedals...

+1 if you use a lot of pedals, especially a distortion pedal

 

Otherwise, put it in the FX loop. Gives you much more dramatic control over your final tone.

Mine setup is:

 

Phasor, OD, distortion, "eq", chorus, delay, tuner.

 

This chain was recommended by the good folks over at the effects forum...it works great.

Mine is in the FX loop. Couldn't dream of putting it anywhere else.

in the loop if you have one or after dirt pedals or at the end of your chaun, and if you have a mesa don't put it in the loop, they have the wrong kind of loops
