Members deluxe74
Whenever I bend strings below the 7th fret I always use my pinky instead of my ring finger. Same with barre chords. I wasn't taught that way but it just feels natural. Any of you use your pinky alot on the lower frets aswell? I hope I'm not letting that get in the way of my playing... Members BeanoBoy
Sounds to me like you have a gift. I never bend with my pinky. Go with it! Django only used 2 fingers, the rest of us use 3 or 4. Have fun and create.

Members milosch
Doing push-ups with your pinkies may be a bit much. Otherwise, rock on.

Members csm
I use whichever finger is nearest to the note I need to hit. For a Dsus4 shape or a major-third pull-off on a high-string lick -- wherever it is on the fretboard -- pinky's the boy for the job. You've got four fingers (and a thumb) on each hand for a REASON. Members aenemated
in my drumming, i actually got a lot from my pinky for stick control, so i'm glad it kinda moved over to guitar. movin my feet helped with pedal steel, too. learning to be a good drummer would be one of the BEST things you can do as a musician. keeping time and limb independence is KEY. Members Funkwire
A lot of folks don't use their pinky because it's not as strong as the other fingers (one less tendon). I don't think there is such a thing as using your pinky too much. It's a good thing.
Members groovmongrel
I make all my bends with my pinky if the string I'm bending is 3 frets from my index finger.

Yeah I've been drumming and guitaring for 14 years equal so I guess it's a drummer thang.

Members whitegreyblack
I wish I could use my pinky more - busted it in high school and it's never been the same since. Doesn't get in the way and gets used somewhat when drumming, though. But it's just about useless for guitar.
