Members NotDead
They should just have the controls be mental. Move your eyes the right way for more volume.
Members LucianoFigallo
Hamer would sell more guitars if they fixed the goofy control layout. Don't know if they would sell more...but I don't like it
Members captainobvious
Why would they stay with this lame layout? They are a bit too pricey for me, but I agree that the controls look very poorly positioned. Especially if you plan to adjust them mid song EDIT: By pricey I mean I'm poor, not that they arent a good value

Members Bmajor
For the same reason Fender stays with the Strat layout.

Members tlbonehead
I have three Hamers with that layout(one also has an extra toggle switch for the piezo/magnetic/blend.) I don't like the pickup selector in that spot at all.

Members White Falcon
it looks like 3 guys couldn't agree on a layout, so they said "{censored} it, we're just puting them in a straight line then "

Members Shaitan
Hamer would sell more if they brought back some decent shapes like the Chaparalle for example.

Members Alex_SF
I actually think Hamer layouts are great. Knobs can be reached easily, but are out of the way & won't get knocked out of position with enthusiastic rhythm strums; same goes for the switch (even more importantly so); and only one tone knob, which I almost never use anyway. However, I do prefer speed knobs to top-hat knobs, so have replaced them on mine.
Members JC777
The controls are the only reason that I've never bought one.

Members JetJaguar
They should just have the controls be mental. Move your eyes the right way for more volume. I prefer to control my guitars via a 1-inch thick bundle of copper wire fused to my spine. I work the controls by clicking my teeth.
Members Alecto
Hamers are freakin' awesome guitars for the money, that unfortunately are out of my price range. The only thing I'd change is that they get back to their mid-90's price point. An incredible value.
Members inkblot
I have a strong preference for having the pickup selector positioned like a Les Paul's. The three knobs in a row is ok, a bit unsexy but doesn't bother me.
Members Jürgen
Tell me you don't love this beauty: That's my USA Hamer Special from '95 - they're not as expensive as you think... I bought mine on eBay for 1000,- USD. And - yeah, I LOVE the way that Hamers look:love:
Members u6crash
I think the volume knob and switch on a Strat are in the way, but they seem to be selling fine.
