I'd like to say it's hideous as I usually don't go for anything even remotely that non-traditional, but almost every tone he demoed was usable to the song at hand. I think the way I'd use it is mainly how he used it in the last two examples, as a more or less delay with short timing, but then step on the Magic button just for a little something extra, some pixie dust on the riffs.
