music is one of three hobbies that I devote alot of time to. The other two are cycling and drawing/sketching/illustration. Though cycling was my life for many years and I would still love it to be a bigger part than it currently is I am a father of 1 (2 next month) and I work ALOT so my time to just go out and ride has dwindled down to nearly nothing (and I am getting fatter by the minute as a result). I do creative for a living so I tend to go to the music stuff more often than not... my visual creative side has been a bit burned out latley.
I think its getting close to time for me to think about moving out the area I am in, deal with the lower pay scale in other parts of the country and take up a slower paced life outside of the NYC advertising nightmare. I'm very happy with lots of parts of my life for sure, great house, great wife, great kid(s), great job, etc etc. I'm very fortunate. But I'm killing myself slowly keeping up the pace I am going currently.
Tonight is a perfect example... I'll be up until probably 4AM tonight working... it's Sunday night. I'll be in the office at 9AM... work until 9:30-10PM... come home eat dinner, play guitar for an hour or two to unwind, then work some more until probably 2 or 3AM...
Long story short... music is keeping me sane.
